Give Your Metabolism a Spring Kick!

Our metabolism is the process in which we are able to convert the food and drink we consume into energy. For those blessed individuals with fast and active metabolisms who get to eat at will, we envy you. For the rest of us, we need to be extra mindful of the food we eat to prevent weight gain.

1. Eat Smart.
Make sure that you feeding your body with good food. Be sure to look into eating good fats in foods like: olive oil, dark chocolate, nuts, avocado and fatty fish.

Eat smaller meals more regularly to help with boosting your metabolism.

DO NOT skip Breakfast. This is our most important meal of the day, our bodies enter into storage mode when we do not eat breakfast, which slows our metabolism. So make sure you get a nutrient filled start to the day.

2. Drink up!
By drinking 2 to 3 litres of water a day, you increase your metabolism by 30%. Filled with antioxidants, green tea is a great way to aide fat oxidation and revving your metabolism.

3. Get Busy Moving.
Exercise regularly and at a high intensity. You don’t need to run a 5km marathon each day, but try to get in some sort of vigorous activity in your day.

4. Rest.
Sleep yourself to a slim body. You need to get adequate rest to ensure that your metabolism does not slow down. Depriving yourself of sleep can lead to binge eating and overall fatigue.

Our bodies can’t be tricked into burning more calories, by listening to and understanding how your body reacts to what you eat and do will help you realise what is best for your body resulting in a better metabolism for you.
