Aida Coertse

Inspiring Woman of the Month

Aida was born in the capital city of Iran, Tehran. She grew up in a working class and religious family.  Her mother had strong psychic abilities and her grandfather was a well known healer.  Aida was only eleven years old when the Islamic revolution took place in Iran in 1978.

Two years later the war between Iraq and Iran started and as a result Aida witnessed and experienced many challenging and heartbreaking events.  These events affected the lives of millions of people in her country: women and men were not allowed to appear in public without the Islamic dress code (Hijab), life became very difficult, and fear ruled the country.

Aida had an arranged married at the age of fifteen, putting a stop to her studies.  At the age of twenty Aida was a mother to three children, two sons and a daughter. She carried the responsibility of a family as her husband was in and out of the front line of the war for months at the time.  Against the wishes of everyone around her, Aida managed to go back to her studies at the age of twenty four.  She completed her matric equivalent.  Following her intuition, she furthered her education by studying English.  She also did extensive research in theology, metaphysics, and various religions.  Looking after three children, working to pay for her studies, and being a suppressed woman in a country at war made for a difficult life.  Her daily living also consisted of standing in hour long queues for basic foods, like bread, milk, sugar and cooking oil, and having only four to six hours of electricity or water a day.

In 1988 the war came to an end.  There was an estimated one million Iranian casualties, killed or wounded.  Aida's husband was psychologically affected and unfortunately became more and more abusive to her and their children.  After a fourteen long years in an abusive marriage she managed to divorce her husband.  According to the Islamic law every belonging, besides the children, is given to the husband.  As a woman there was no place for her after divorce, and so her life was hell.  She could not be herself or rediscover her potential as a woman.  Aida decided that she would not survive under such conditions; she wanted her voice to be heard; she wanted a different life for her children.

With the help of a friend Aida decided to leave her family, her children, and every thing she knew behind and flee the country.  Her premonitions were her guide.  Her spiritual journey brought her to South Africa in 1999.  She loved the country and the people. South Africa was a newly free country, just like her, and the energy of the land was comforting and familiar. It felt like home.  This energy was as loving and accepting as its people.  Aida's only worry was her children, and she knew that one day she would go back to get them.

Her research and study in the esoteric continued while she worked as a translator and interpreter at an Iranian export company based in South Africa.  After a long five years of separation from her children she received brilliant news, her daughter phoned and said that her father is now letting her to come to South Africa.  After such a life journey, the Angels spoke to Aida saying that now it was time to commit and surrender herself to the spirituality and her gift.  Now that Aida has the freedom, and the time, she wants to empower and inspire each and every woman in South Africa with her life story.  After nine years of living in South Africa, Aida says: "I have found my spiritual family; I have a great circle of wonderful friends who have brought joy, love, light and value to my life."

Aida has always had the ability to see spirits that live beyond our physical world; however she was instructed by her mother to keep quiet about her gift. Her mother told her that people would not understand her and that others could not see the angels or the deceased people whom she spoke to. Her mother was a great teacher, and her Iranian culture helped her to witness and learn many rituals which enriched her soul. Her happy childhood was unfortunately short lived with the arrival of the Islamic Revolution followed by the Iraq Iran War.

Aida practices from her home in Cape Town as a Psychic, Medium, Clairvoyant, Energy healer and Reiki Master.  Her readings and healings in the past four and a half years have brought comfort, closure and guidance to many people from all over South Africa, as well as for people abroad.  When you ask Aida what her secret to success is, she responds: "When life is as though there is nothing but darkness, when every road seems to be a dead-end and everyone seems to turn their back on you, you need not to believe, but rather to know, that you are never alone.  If you are there for yourself then the universe is with you and there is a definite way to light".

Aida has been interviewed and featured in various media, from TV, Radio and Magazines to Newspapers in South Africa. Aida has been a regular columnist in Marie Claire.  Aida has worked for more than three years as an esoteric expert on Heart Radio 104.9Fm and for half a year on Good Hope Fm.  She strongly believes when you turn knowledge into wisdom and apply it with love and compassion, an open mind and focus, life becomes an infinite possibility.

Aida does personal readings from her home or via telephone.  She also gives workshops on numerology and a 'crossing over' style workshop.  To contact Aida call 071 369 2004 or e-mail: aida.clairvoyant@gmail.com

European Choices

Last week, the Euro area Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) rose for the second month in a row, topping out above 50, surprising market analysts who had expected 48. It suggests no EU recession, or at least the possibility of already moving on, bolstered by late last year’s French output data and also this week by German IFO business confidence data (all perking up).
