Inspiration is what motivates you to get fit. Keep the inspiration alive as a source of encouragement throughout your fitness journey. Use social networking to your advantage by following pages and people who post photos, tips and insider secrets online. Seeing these posts on your timeline regularly will stimulate your inspiration and drive your further on your fitness journey.

Desire

Desire is self-motivation and is the one thing that you really need in order to keep exercising. Where there is a will, there is a way; nothing can stop you once you have your mind set on something. Use your inner determination to retain the motivation to exercise. Aid your desire by setting a resolution or taking photos of yourself every few weeks. Seeing the difference in way your body responds to being fitter and healthier will reignite your desire to continue exercising.

Support

Although we may not always like to admit it, support is sometimes needed. Whether it is from your partner, friends or family, support can lift your spirits and guide you in the right direction on your fitness journey. If it is possible, recruit somebody you know to get fit with you, or make friends while exercising. It will keep you going because you not only have a responsibility to yourself, but to your fitness buddy as well.

Routine

A great way to keep motivated is to have a routine. Commit to exercising on certain days of the week and at specific times. This will compel you to stick to your schedule and serve as a reminder. Having routines are a useful tool in leading you to achieving the goals which you have set out.

Rewards

Exercising is hard work! It is natural to want a reward for it. Besides your body functioning and looking better, you can create a reward system for yourself as an added motivation. Here’s an example: Save money in a jar, but only add to the jar every time you exercise. This will prompt you to get fit and save at the same time.
