When applying pencil liner, most of us swipe the colour across our entire lower lash line, right? That’s what beauty blogs and books have told us to do for years. Here is what we are actually supposed to do:
According to The Beauty Department, this rule doesn’t actually apply to white eyeliner.
Everyone knows that white eyeliner makes your eyes look rounder but lining the entire lower lash line simply highlights and emphasises your eye’s natural shape, which we don’t want to happen if we have a slightly flat or downcast eye line. What we’re actually supposed to do is only line pencil ‘along the centre of the lower lash line’ (Byrdie.com), where our lash line is most rounded. Doing so will enhance this round shape, making your eyes appear bigger.
