Also known as Béchamel sauce, this basic white sauce is versatile and compliments almost any dish. Pair it with vegetables, turn it into a creamy casserole or ladle it over seafood or slices chicken. Serve “as is,” or make it into a cheese sauce. Spice it up with mustard, dill or curry for an unexpected bite.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cups milk
- In small saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Stir in flour, salt and pepper.(Any additional ingredients should be added at this step)
- Turn up the stove medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly and remove from heat.
- Gradually stir in milk.
- Return to a medium- high Heat until it starts to boiling. Stirring constantly, allow the sauce to boil for 1 minute and remove from heat and it’s ready to serve.
And there you have it, a perfect white sauce in just a few minutes with very little effort and even better very little dishes. If you find your sauce is a bit lumpy when you boil it for the last time stir it with a whisk to break up the last few little lumps.
