Last week during the traditional Changing of the Guard ceremony that occurs every morning, one of the Queen’s guards lost his footing and fell to the ground. Unfortunately for him, with this being a hugely popular tourist attraction, the whole thing was recorded by a multitude of people.
The guard got up quickly as his fellow guards marched past without missing a step. It was found endearing that he allowed himself to break his expression and smile, even if it was just for a second, before he regained his composure.
David Meadwell “I didn’t expect anything like this to happen- he went flying. There were quite a few people around and there were a lot of gasps as he went down. I think he just slipped on a manhole cover, he looked so embarrassed.”
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence said that they would not be commenting on the case of a “young man falling over while doing his job.”
Do you think that the guard’s instability will cost him his employment?
