You know the saying: “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”. But it becomes difficult when your eyes hide your beauty and instead they reveal your lifestyle such as bad habits and health. The dark circles under your eyes tend to be related to age, genetics and other health issues. However you can still minimize the appearance of dark circles under your eyes by following these 5 easy steps that will make your face look more radiant and youthful.

1. Get enough sleep
Sleep is one of the most important requisites we need as human beings, however with the growing amount of demanding lifestyles; there is simply no time to take time off. However it is advisable to sleep at least 8 hours per day or more to increase blood circulation.
2. Follow a healthy, balanced diet
Eating habits tend to cause and affect the dark under eyes circles so by following a healthy diet would be helpful in eliminating the dark circles. Next time you go to the grocery store do include; a lot of fruits and vegetables especially spinach, cabbage and other leafy vegetables. Taking vitamins or supplements is also helpful to removing dark circles and puffiness as they are often attributed to lack of vitamin K or inadequate antioxidants. Also, a deficiency in B12 can result in dark circles. While on that note, drink plenty of water as fluids improve circulation.
3. Use natural and home remedies
Cucumber, grated potatoes and meditation are helpful in removing dark circles. It is always advised to use natural products instead of chemicals although some do assist in reducing dark circles however natural home remedies are significant too and less harmful.
• Cucumber and grated potatoes: Cucumber has always been known as a ‘pick me up I am tired’ vegetable for puffiness and dark circles. You cut it into slices then you place it over the eyes by extending it over the darkened areas for a period of 10 minutes. This method also applies to grated potatoes where they are placed at the gloomy part of your eyes as it contains whitening properties. You must do this daily while lying down with your eyes closed.
• Meditation: Take a moment from your busy schedule and meditate. Activities such as yoga/meditation are helpful in relieving stress from your busy lifestyle. This can be done at home or even at the office for a period of at least 15-30 minutes daily therefore by doing this; it will balance your body clock by calming your mind body and soul.
4. Quit smoking
Smoking causes vascular (blood vessel) problems that can only threaten your life but also make your blood vessels more prominent and bluer.
5. Treatment of allergies
Allergies are a common cause of dark circles especially under the eyes. If an allergy is the source of your difficulty, get it treated as soon as possible. Hay fever is one common and frequent allergy which could be treated effectively by purchasing prescribed medication. Talk to a dermatologist for help what exactly could be the cause and how it can be solved.
