Lynette Nontobeko Magasa is the founder and CEO of Boniswa Corporate Solutions (Pty) Ltd, which was established in 2004. Lynette is described as an entrepreneurial business woman who exudes passion for her business and industry, as well as integrity and humility.
With over 15 years’ working experience in the engineering and information technology sector, Lynette says that being a woman in a largely male-dominated industry has never held her back.
Lynette started her career at Denel in 1998 as a receptionist, but today she is the CEO of Boniswa which employees more than 160 employees. Known for being passionate and authentic, Lynette is always pushing herself to the limit. She was nominated as a finalist on Business woman of year 2013, Entrepreneur of the year finalist 2013 by Top Woman Awards.
She was awarded Top Performing Business Woman of the Year at the 11th Annual Business Awards 2013. In 2014 she was also awarded as Top Black Female Leader of the Year and Fast Growth Black-owned SMME Awards at the 13th Annual Oliver Empowerment Awards and 2015 Top young entrepreneur by Oliver Empowerment. SHE WAS THE Elle Boss Winner Coporate Category ELLE Magazine SA 2015 AND THE top Empowered Entrepreneur of 2016 Award Oliver Empowerment Awards.
When Lynette founded Boniswa Corporate Solutions with no capital investment or background knowledge of the engineering industry, she persevered with her passion for the sector and her belief in the strategic objective behind the foundation of her company. The venture has been so rewarding- specifically as Boniswa is the only female owned company operating in this male dominated environment. She started off as Operations Executive, taking on the responsibilities for network rollout for the major cellullar operations in South Africa, from GSM infrastructure to wireless and microwave backbones.
Juggling being an entrepreneur, mother, and being a student does not faze Lynette. She is also armed with a Masters degree in Information Technology and TUT and currently busy with her MBA from Regenesys University. She is intrigued with research and there is probably a PHD on the horizon.
She strongly believes that “given a chance, woman can lead like men”. She always carries her success and the awards that she has achieved as her spear of pride. She believes that her successes of leading a significant organisation will be inspiration to all woman from every race and creed in South Africa. Lynette is driven by her passion and gives a lot of credit to her employees.
Lynette, we salute you!
